What is Automatic Number Identification (ANI)?

ANI is an acronym for Automatic Number Identification, which is the system that allows identification of the calling party’s phone number.
It can be used to identify the caller, but can also be used in other services, such as Callback or IVR based access system, where the number would be used to authorize the client with the system.
